A friend and mentor has taught me that creating a daily practice is crucial. Waiting for the 'perfect' idea to form is limiting. So much of my motivation to write is based on mood, yet I have found that committing to a daily practice of a set number of words provides momentum and practice for inspiration to filter through even when I don't otherwise feel creatively inspired. I also like to play with the energy of creativity- the Queen of Wands. Getting playful, turning the process into a game, helps me connect with the energy enough to stick with it when I don't otherwise feel like writing.

In addition to kicking around some ideas for a follow up to Queen Up! I am also working on short fiction and a few projects that remain top secret for now....

Being moody helps. I am most inspired when something strikes me emotionally, whether those emotions are pleasant or not. When I am feeling indifferent it is much more difficult for me to get inspired. Usually there is either something I am reacting to, or something I want to teach, or some way that I want to challenge others because I have been challenged to see things differently than the way they appear.

Queen Up! Was inspired by my journey to recovery from a mild Traumatic Brain Injury after being hit by a car. During this time of uncertainty and transition, I had to align with different aspects of my identity to create a new life. I found that women who came to me for Intuitive Readings and Coaching were also facing doubts and transitions, although the details were different, we were all looking for ways to re-create outside of the box that was once familiar. I drew on connection to elemental energies and spirituality as part of my own recovery, and wanted to share these tools with other women, and so I began using the Queens from Tarot to personify these energies. This evolved into what is now Queen Up!
