I don't think I've ever had it. I always have something I want to work on. If I'm not feeling it, I can switch to another. It drives me crazy when I hear people at my blue-collar job talk about how they get bored in their off time, postponing retirement as a result. I would kill to have more time to write. Those people need to find something they enjoy doing. There's a lot more to life than the grind. Hopefully, I am working my way toward it.

Some people fear the blank page (screen). I look forward to it. Some days it's tough, when not much comes. But even if it is a little, it's something. I have agonized for hours over a paragraph. Maybe that's my version of writer's block. I don't know. But I do enjoy the solitude, the creative process, and the quiet.

Routine. You have to have a time everyday for writing, no matter how long. I usually only have a little over an hour between 4:30 - 6 am. Yeah its hard, but I keep telling myself I won't have to get up this early one day and it will all be worth it. I'm a perfectionist. I'm slow.... but I do feel like I am getting faster. Just vomit up that first draft as fast as you can. Writing, for me, is in the rewrites. And when that unexpected twist comes, jump on and ride it. Your readers will too. It's a blast.

I am doing revisions of a zombie novel that I am very proud of. It is an homage to a favorite author of mine, Richard Matheson, and I cannot wait to have it out there. I am currently in the initial planning stages of a sequel as well. I still work a full-time job, so I move a little slower than professional writers. But it's coming... I promise

Music inspires me tremendously. Hearing great lyrics combined with a sophisticated melody to me is the closest thing to reading (or writing) captivating prose.

I predominantly write scary stories, but I am also heavily influenced by and admire southern writers like Flannery O'Connor (the main inspiration of "The Shoulders of Giants"). I also lived in Greece for a while, and Greek mythology fascinates me. I'm certain this will not be the last "modern" mythological story I write, as I have several more in mind--one, already on paper.
