Kimberly Keagan I love this question! For my debut novel, Perfect, I got the idea from an 1895 newspaper article that I stumbled across when I was doing some genealogy research for a friend. As a historical romance writer, I'm so thankful that we have old newspapers at our fingertips!
Kimberly Keagan That's easy! By reading my favorite authors who all inspire me to be a better writer. (I'm an avid reader.)
Kimberly Keagan I'm currently juggling two exciting projects (not easy, as I’m not the best multi-tasker!). My debut novel, Perfect, is a Gilded Age romance set to release in March, God willing. The second is Heart of Hope, a novella that's part of the multi-author Hearts of the West series, set in 1890 in the Arizona Territory.
Kimberly Keagan Good question! I have two answers for you. The first are the connections I've made along the way. Writers make great friends! The second best thing is the idea of writing something that will, hopefully, make someone smile or bring joy to their day. As Jane Austen's Elizabeth Bennet says, "I dearly love a laugh."
Kimberly Keagan Funny you should ask! I just wrote a guest post for Patti Shene's "The Over 50 Writer" blog entitled "Encouragement for New Writers". My advice at the end is this: Becoming a published author isn’t an overnight process. For me, it’s been a five-year journey of practice, dedication, and faith. My advice? Give yourself the same grace. Allow time to learn, grow, and discover your voice.

Kimberly Keagan Thanks for asking! I will do two things if I'm experiencing writer's block: put the story away for a few days (or weeks) and brainstorm with my group of writing buddies.
