Paralyzed in the middle of the bed, a darkness settled over me, holding me hostage. My mind screamed for help, none came.

I'd travel to ancient Scotland from the world of The Outlander & all Diana Gabaldon's books in that series. I'd probably try to find Jamie! I love time travel books, romance where men are men & castles!

I have a real life mystery in my life. My grandfather was killed surrounded by mysterious circumstances back in 1924. My father was only 10 months old, so never knew him. The mystery surrounds the mob and his last name. Could it be a question of mistaken identity? Ah, the plot thickens.

I'm a big fan of Claire and Jamie in the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. I think because they are so very well described, their love is passionate, but not perfect. You see their flaws, but also how they overcome. It's a great series that focuses on these two characters. Love lost, love found, love endures.

My most recently published book, An Unlikely Conclusion, is the last in the series of The Velvet Shoe Collection. A mystery fiction based on my grandmother's arranged marriage. So this book follows her escapades to their conclusion.

I am a creator of habit. I set my day up as if I was going to my day job. I'm retired now, so it IS my day job. I take the first hour for social media and then go to my writing. After lunch a write a couple more hours. Evenings are set aside for family, but I am never idle in my mind. No matter what I'm doing, I look at it from a writer's perspective, so by the next day I have new inspiration. Some people need music or silence or other types of inspiration. I just need to be on an organized schedule.

I have 2 new projects I'm working on. Both are contemporary. One is a humorous tale about a single working mother who is struggling with losing her identity as a woman. The other is a mystery series set in the Rocky Mountains. I'm branching out a bit as I usually write historical fiction.

The best advice I can give to new writers is to continue to study your craft. There is always something to learn. I make use of online webinar's and workshop's as much as I can. I always learn something new. Study other writer's and don't rush to get published. Make sure your work is worthy. Take pride in turning out a quality story.

The best thing about being a writer is the freedom to do what I love. Creating those fictional stories, fictional characters that come to life under your hand. Creating worlds that readers can get lost in. I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing.

Writer's block is annoying to say the least. Some days the words just flow with ease. Other days every sentence you write seems off. When I have those days, I step back, go outside and take a walk. Sometimes, I put the headphones on and listen to music while I walk. Every once in a while, I sit down and pick up a good book and read for a while. Most of the time inspiration filters back and I can continue.
