I try to write my way out of it by writing about anything, even if it has nothing to do with the book I'm working on. When that doesn't work, I take refuge in my workshop and start building a piece of furniture. Most often the diversion is just enough to clear my head so that when I return to my writing desk, several days later, the block I faced is no longer there.

I try to write everyday, and there are not many days when I have to force myself to do it. I write in the morning so that the day's events and distractions don't clutter my mind. I have following the same routine for more than thirty years.

The second book in the T.J. Peterson series will be published in March 2017 The title is"The Hell Of It All". I'm currently writing the third book in the series.

For the past ten years, a Halifax gang has been forcing young girls into prostitution and trafficking them across Canada. News of this disturbed me a great deal. As raw as the subject matter is, I needed to write about it, to create a story that soundly strikes my readers in the way I was struck. I am not a journalist, and so I fictionalized the story.
