I recently republished my Grimsley Hollow series. My son was the inspiration for the books. He's autistic and had problems with bullying in middle school. I wanted to write a series where a special-needs child was the hero. It is my hope that children learn to accept these kids and include them in their lives. Not all heroes wear capes. True courage comes from the heart.

I never have to worry about that. Inspiration comes to me when watching television, in dreams, strangers I see in the grocery store... It's all around us. All we have to do is open our eyes and see it.

If I'm stuck on a particular chapter, I find that walking away from my manuscript and doing something else helps. Answers usually come to me when I'm cleaning house, puttering in my flower beds, or performing other tasks that are not mentally demanding.
