Paul Vanderloos What a question! Not exactly a mystery (although it was to me at the time) was being in Fiji and having a breakdown of sorts. It started a comedy/tragedy of errors as people reacted to my behaviour. Would I write a book about it? Perhaps not but it could be an idea for some writer to work with.
Paul Vanderloos I would love to go to the beautiful realm of the elves in Lord of the Rings where I could enjoy looking out from the huge balcony to the majestic views of mountains and waterfalls.
Paul Vanderloos My most recent book, The Gold Sarcophagus, was completed in 2018 and is now available as both an ebook and print. This book is the last in a series of three books in my Nine Worlds of Mirrortac series, and evolved from an original idea back in 1986. However, my style and the full plot for this book developed in recent years, and it (and the second book, Three Stones of Destiny, are more racy and less descriptive than the first book, The Wizard's Sword, which is highly descriptive and magical. In this most recent book, I drew on the mythologies of Atlantis and Ancient Egypt to create a dramatic scenario of apocalyptic proportions.
Paul Vanderloos I watch and read fantasy works by authors such as Tolkien and when I sit down to write, I play music that puts me in the right mood to create a new story.
Paul Vanderloos Writing is a craft that improves with practice and exploration. You need to be prepared to listen to valuable feedback and read how other authors craft their words in a way that flows and draws you in as a reader. Always be prepared to learn otherwise your words may not have the impact that you want.
Paul Vanderloos Imagination is a wonderful thing. I can create worlds, scenarios, conflicts and characters. And I love to share these stories with others to enjoy.
Paul Vanderloos I am working on the third book of the fantasy trilogy Nine Worlds of Mirrortac that includes The Wizard's Sword and Three Stones of Destiny. I call this one The Gold Sarcophagus which brings the trilogy to a dramatic finish.
Paul Vanderloos I will read through what I have written and play my muse music to put me into the creative space. Sometimes, I have to leave it and allow the ideas to gel more in my head before launching into writing again.
