I have an ancestor who may or may not have had a double life. Stories indicate that he was an outlaw who tried to escape arrest and either passed, or didn't. The stories stating he lived explore another marriage and family. Records have been offered up as proof, but have conflicting information. Who knows, maybe it will inspire a historical fiction novel one day!

When I was young, I spent equal parts reading and writing. I specifically remember some of my first stories being paranormal vampire romance, MCs unknowingly in competitions for love, and chance encounters. I just knew I wanted to be an author. The only reason it took so long was because I let society tell me it wouldn't make me any money, and convince me that was the only way to be successful.

A Penny For Your Thoughts released in August, and it was almost a year in the making. I always knew Leah would have her own story, but Nick and Leah paired up on their own- that wasn't the plan! While the romance is all their own, Leah's situation with her niece and nephew was loosely inspired by an experience I had with children close to me. I was happy to give these two a happy ending in this case.

I'm as much a mood writer as a mood reader. If inspiration hits me, I have to get that idea out. It may be as simple as voice notes or writing something down so I don't forget. Other times it feels like a compulsion to write a scene. If I'm struggling to write where I'm at in a manuscript, then I determine if something isn't working and fix that first, or move to another point in the story to write. I am not able to hold myself to writing in scene or chapter order through the book!

My favorite thing about Maci and Sutton is that they’re two whole people with their own full lives and aspirations. Their relationship is only a piece of their lives and they complement each other really well.
