Eric P. Caillibot The only sound was her heavy breathing. The silence that followed was worse.
Eric P. Caillibot This summer, I finished my Garth Nix journey with Clariel. I also finally got around to reading Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. I've had some long drives, so I've been enjoying audiobooks too, getting through Day of the Triffids, The Chrysalids and next up is The Cat Who Walks Through Walls.
Eric P. Caillibot My inspiration is triggered by all kinds of unexpected things, like particular scenes in a movie, lyrics from a song, conversations with friends, and so on. I try to never waste a good idea, so when something occurs to me, I always make an effort to write it down.

When I later get around to making time for writing, I dig through all of my notes and start organizing them into a coherent story.
Eric P. Caillibot While writing The Conquest of Kiynan, I wanted to build up a rich, mysterious past for Kayla and her companions to stumble upon. As I worked on it, I realized I had enough material to form the core of a second book.

The Legacy of Lethe is both a prequel and a sequel to The Conquest of Kiynan, letting the reader both follow a group of adventurers searching for answers about the past and also letting them experience past events first-hand.
Eric P. Caillibot I am currently working on a sequel to The Conquest of Kiynan, called The Legacy of Lethe. It explores the mysterious history of Lethe that Kayla caught glimpses of in the first book.

In the background, I am also slowly working on Contested Souls, a novel about angels and demons fighting for the souls of humans (unrelated to Kiynan).
Eric P. Caillibot Overcoming writer's block for me has been about focus and concentration. I find it impossible to make any progress with a variety of unrelated thoughts nagging at me. Once I am able to block out distractions and be completely absorbed in a story, the ideas flow naturally.
