Sit down and write. It doesn’t matter if it’s good, bad, cliche or boring. The important thing is to get words down onto the page. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it because those are opinions that can hold you back. With time and like any other skill, you will write better and more complete stories. There is no quick way to gain experience.

I think it’s important to look at where the story is ultimately going. Knowing where I want to end helps a lot. The best way out of any jam is to write. You can always fix things when editing later on. You can always tweak or adjust the plot or even go back to change important items. You can’t edit a blank page. If you trust in your skill then the story will follow.
