M.K. Jackson We have a tie!

#1: Because I am a mid-century freak, the world of L.A. Confidential's (James Ellroy) Los Angeles. I would soak up 1950s sights and sounds, movies and music, architecture and entertainment. All the restaurants, night clubs, cinemas, neighborhoods, libraries, and landmarks that are no longer here, but that I've read and seen so much about.

#2: Holden Caulfield's New York in The Catcher in the Rye (J. D. Salinger). If I need to tell you why, you obviously haven't read the book--but I'll give you a hint: Chapter 25. I would stand there in Central Park and watch Phoebe ride the carousel. Perhaps the most emotional and magical scene in all of American literature.
