My idea for my children's book, My Mystical, Magical, Shrinking Hair came about as the result of a conversation between myself, my God-niece, and her mother on the subject of hair. My niece was sharing the angst and struggles of her hair, which her mother was totally in agreement with. I responded how special her head of naturally tightly curled hair is and I was thinking, "Wow...how many other little girls feel this same way". Thus, the story of Crystal (the books character) formed in my head to share the glorious story of her hair.
