Where does the inspiration for your stories come from?

A.A. DaSilva I'm inspired by the complexity of life. We're all in this human condition together, and while we can get swept away in the day-to-day, something hums just underneath the surface of just merely surviving. Something spiritual. Magical. A thread that connects all of us in our search for more, for meaning, for purpose. I'm inspired to write stories that explore the complexities of love, relationships, and dance on the edge of speculative, because I truly believe nothing is impossible in this life and beyond.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

A.A. DaSilva So many life experiences inspired me to write Periphery. From being a military wife, a clinical lab scientist, to having a fascination with NDE's (LOVE Dr. Parnia's research!) and the multiverse, the universe gave me the ingredients, and I poured my heart and soul into writing it!

How do you get inspired to write?

A.A. DaSilva Sometimes my mind needs to be anywhere but here. After I escape to my alternate (writing) universe for a while, I'm ready to come back to reality and face my very own (real-life) plot twists and character arcs!

What are you currently working on?

A.A. DaSilva I'm currently working on an enemies-to-lovers military romantic suspense/contemporary romance that's NOT set in the Periphery world. More on that to come!

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

A.A. DaSilva Simplify! You just need to sit down and write. A fancy laptop, a gorgeous website, or an office with a view won't write the book for you. Grab the laptop (or notebook, or typewriter, whatever) and get lost in a world of your making!
