By staying busy. Writer's block comes when you sit down at your computer to write, but then for whatever reason, can't. The way to overcome that is to have a list of things to work on before you sit down. If you're having trouble writing, then that is when you take the opportunity to do other "writing stuff" such as sending off queries, editing, blogging, marketing (and that included leaving comments on blogs and critique sites), and brainstorming.

I love the feeling that comes when a story comes together in my head. I love typing that final period at the end of a short story. I love meeting other writers and sharing tips. And I know this might make me a mark for myself, but I still get excited every time I get to see my name in print again.

If you haven't started writing yet, start at this very moment. My biggest regret is that I spend well over a decade telling myself that I'd like to write fiction "some day." My first short story acceptance came at 35. I hate to think about where I'd be today if that was at 25.
