I usually try to write through it and it might be slow going but eventually I break through. Skipping ahead works too, as it lets you deal with the consequences of one chapter and gives you a way to come at the problem from another angle.

I'm currently working on Book 3 of the Friday Night Frights series. This one is tentatively titled "I Was a Teenage Sex Robot."

Various things trigger the ideas. Sometimes it's just a matter of seeing a situation in a movie and wondering, "What if this happened instead?" Sometimes it's just trying to figure out why something works the way it does. A lot of the time it is from sitting in traffic and trying to think up little stories to keep myself entertained.

I grew up watching a lot of horror, in particular slasher movies. It only made sense that I would have Dave and company encounter one. Certain parts of the tale, such as the identity of the antagonist, are from a screenplay I wrote that used a similar premise.
