Jil Ross And then the princess turned the evil witch into a wolf. The End.
Jil Ross Believe it or not something about being on an airplane opens me up and releases my ideas... I cannot explain it. Perhaps its that when I'm traveling its for pleasure and I'm leaving worries, cares and 'stuff' behind which allows me to focus on my writing. Also I'm often awakened in the middle of the night with ideas that I have to put into a recording device so that they are not forgotten by daybreak.
Jil Ross Having a platform that allows my ideas, emotion, thoughts, craziness, inspiration, plots, conflicts and imagination to come to life is the best thing about being a writer. I think that being an artist on any level gives one a certain perspective and understanding that others don't have.
Jil Ross Just do it, just write it. Don't worry about the format, or grammar or if you don't have formal training... Just get the story out and everything else will come into place.
Jil Ross Wow, I seem to be all over the place. I am working on a screenplay for Foster and that bad, B.A.D.D bully!, as well as working on a Christmas story with Foster and Marie, from the Shenanigans Series. In addition I have a few plays that I am developing and a story I am working on that is inspired by an idea I have around the Dutch tradition of Zwarte Piet, that I witnessed while visiting Amsterdam. I dab in and out off all of these projects as the ideas and inspiration hit me.
Jil Ross When I first began writing the Shenanigans Series, it was the result of a challenge of my son. I'd been collecting notes on funny precocious things that he and my daughter had done, I added those stories to a book binder that also contained memoirs of things that had happened during my childhood. My husband had shared stories of his childhood as well and all those stories and events inspired the series. Since that time I have continued to be inspired by children I see, stores I read in the media, news, song lyrics, current events and my nieces. I find it quite easy to observe or listen and create a story. And to be honest I have a lot of characters in my life that allow me to build upon their uniqueness.
