I feel like almost anything can inspire me. I love learning about the world, and whenever I learn about a new place or culture I get particularly excited to delve right in. Music is also extremely inspiring to me, and just the other day I saved a song specifically to outline a new story because it popped into my head while I was listening!

Don't be precious with your stories. THE GIFTED HEART has changed A LOT since I first started it. Some of those changes were hard for me to make, but ultimately, they were what was best for the story and I love them now. If you drop a plot point or a character out of narrative necessity, you can always use that plot point in another book! But don't try to force puzzle pieces that don't fit.

It depends on what's blocking me! But generally, I take a break - watch a show, eat, play a game, or read a book! After refueling my body and my creative juices, I'm usually ready to tackle it again. I also might switch things up and write something new just to get myself typing!

The funny thing about this book - this whole series, really - is that it wasn't supposed to be a book at all. It started out as just a writing exercise to prepare to write a different series altogether. But as I got to know the characters in this story, I couldn't *not* tell their stories!
