Mikel J. Wilson Absolutely. I'm working on the third book now. In addition to tackling another bizarre murder, it will answer all questions about Jeff's backstory, including the second book's mini-cliffhanger. The fourth book will do the same with Emory's backstory. After that, I'll write the last book in the series, but we have the option to extend the series by several books before releasing that final chapter.
Mikel J. Wilson My advice isn't very original, but it's important. Writers write, and they write every day. Productive writers are in the habit of writing, and they don't make excuses for letting a day go by without putting pen to paper.
Mikel J. Wilson I'm currently finishing the edits on my second Mourning Dove Mysteries novel, and I'm outlining the third one.
Mikel J. Wilson Music, meditation and travel. I always develop a playlist when I start working on a new book, and I fill it with music that sets the tone I'm seeking. I meditate to focus on the book while freeing my mind to exploration. I also travel to places I want to use in the book, or I find unexpected inspiration in places I visit -- as was the case with Sedona: The Lost Vortex.
Mikel J. Wilson I never published my first book, an adventure about a 15-year-old boy on the run from his murderous father. It's locked away in one of my file cabinets.

About three years ago, I started thinking again about that character, and I wondered what would he be doing now. I figured he would be in law enforcement after his experiences, so I developed a mystery series for him. I use my first book as backstory for Emory Rome, but I will revisit his first adventure in an upcoming book.
