What are you currently working on?
Jon Byrne I am currently working on the third book in the series, with the working title of 'Shield of Faith'. It continues Richard's involvement in the Northern Crusades.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Jon Byrne The best thing for me is being my own boss. How much or how little I write is down to me. At the moment I have just had my debut published, I am editing the sequel and writing the third book at the same time. It is an exciting time!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Jon Byrne The book I am now writing is actually the third book in The Northern Crusader Chronicles. I became interested in these topic after reading The Northern Crusades by Eric Christiansen, especially the Order of Swordbrothers who were a rough and ready lot!
