I love to lay down right before bed when I'm tired, but not exhausted and let my brain explore different stories that I find interesting, which can be annoying because I struggle with getting a good idea and then having to basically wake myself up fully to write it down! I've learned though that I absolutely have to just do it because I NEVER remember what it was in the morning.

My book, The Scientist, is a love letter to Gilmore Girls, The Big Bang Theory, and Pride and Prejudice! The idea mostly came from watching an episode of The Big Bang Theory, however. I love the juxtaposition of those individuals with an elite level of genius who struggle to match the social or emotional intelligence of everyone around them.

I'm convinced that whatever part of your brain you use to type is not the same as the part we use to physically write on paper! Whenever I have writer's block, what usually works for me is switching from one to the other. It's more of a pain to write it out on paper since I have to transcribe it later, but it truly helps me think better sometimes to just freehand whatever thoughts I'm having!
