I've been lucky enough not ever to have suffered a serious case. If I'm "stuck" on one piece, I usually have another I can work on. I also do illustrations, so sometimes drawing can alleviate writing-related anxieties.

The Undulating Mountain is the result of several intersecting concerns and interests. Ever since childhood, I have wondered how the mythologies I grew up with, such as King Arthur, could be relevant to Americans. This book, which has as back story my Arthurian novel Her Family of Men, ties together current ecological and sociological concerns with ancient American myth and imported -- Grail-based -- myth. You could say that I've been working on this book since I was about 9.

I honestly don't know. I come from a long line of Appalachian story tellers who were deeply grounded in the mythologies of several countries - British, Norse, Greek and Roman - as well as the Bible, so I simply can't imagine not doing it.

I'm working on sequels to my 2 newly (or about to be published) books, Her Family of Men and The Undulating Mountain. I expect to produce 2 trilogies, the first of which (Her Family of Men) is the back story for the second (The Undulating Mountain).
