Dream Frequency is the sequel to Dream Girl. The idea for these books came to me in a very vivid and weird dream.
I'm outlining my next book, which is a contemporary realistic YA. The idea for that was inspired by people and situations from my past. I'm very excited to work on it!

I'm currently working on a novel based on the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe. The more I got to know about his life, the more I started to ask "what if?" My current project is my playing around with that question.

I'm the kind of writer who listens to music while writing. When I'm feeling blocked, I'll put together a playlist of music that fits the mood of the scene I'm trying to write. I listen to it as much as possible to get into the right frame of mind. It usually works.

A lot of my ideas come from dreams and are then fleshed out through incidents in my real life. For example, I'd had a vivid and strange dream when I was in college. I knew it'd be great in a novel, but I didn't know what that novel might be. I held on to that idea for years. Then, when I read A Crack in the Line by Michael Lawrence, I suddenly realized that the dream from years ago should be part of a young adult novel and the ideas just started tumbling out like mad.
