Oooh, great question! So many books, so little space ...
(I am listing books as I recall them, not in preference of reading)
1. A Dragon of a Different Color by Rachel Aaron
2. Fury of a Phoenix by Shannon Mayer
3. All future Shannon Mayer books, but especially a series she has coming up featuring young witch Pamela from the Rylee Adamson series, which, btw, is mind-blowing!
4. Sequels to Keeper (Matefinder Next Generation Books) by Leia Stone
I know I'm missing a ton, but that's all I can think of right now. Thanks for the question!

I am always inspired by history. And injustice. And sometimes, just from the sure beauty of humanity.

I am currently working on a project that is very near and very dear to me. It's a major departure from my historical romance roots, but still includes my favorite themes: love, freedom and yes, sex. The title? WILD TURKEYS CAN FLY: an American Chick in Pursuit of Life, Liberty and Fowl Love. :-)

Hi Romina! I would be honored if E. J. James had been inspired by Gabriel's woman, but I think she was more inspired by Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series.
I studied art in school, but have always written. Words are like paint, I think, as they are the tools to convey emotion. Thank you for your very kind compliments about my writing. :-)

Absolutely, Carol. It's been difficult juggling all the health problems with me, my mom (mom is going to have surgery again later this month or the beginning of October) and my husband, but I think things are getting better. In fact, I'm really, really hoping to publish a very special book that is near and dear to my heart in October/November, but we will see ... :-)

Robin, I'm so pleased to hear that things are getting better for you and I look forward to reading your new book in the not too distant future. :)

There is always a reason for writer's block. Generally I find it can mostly be blamed on overwork. If you're too tired or brain dead to balance a check book, you really aren't going to write your best work. Or as the case may be, any work at all ...

Research. I LOVE researching the past and how people lived. Little things, like: What did people do about toilet paper in 1880? When were pockets added to men's trousers? What was Queen Victoria's favorite dessert? (I'll give you a hint: Cherries Jubilee was created for her Jubilee celebrations c 1897.) When writing Scandalous Lovers I was as delighted as my heroine to find that the Victoria Train Station in London 1888 had self-flushing toilets. I also love my readers. Their support make the trials of writing worth while.

Read. I can't tell you how many people I've talked to who said they have a brilliant idea for a book and want to get published ... only to discover that said aspiring writer can't even remember the last book they read. You learn so much more about writing through reading than any "writing" class can ever teach.

Actually, it's more a matter of finding time to write right now. My mother and my husband have been very, very ill. Much as I love writing, they come first.
