The world of Heir to the Raven began as stories for my boys, though I've translated them into a grounded, PG-13 fantasy setting. Each of their characters appear in various guises. The boys and I mapped out the story arc on a beach in Kenya, and then plotted out each scene while in Thailand. I then wrote the book in Ukraine and edited it in The Bahamas. It's a well-traveled book!
