Sarah Templeton Growing up with a narcissistic mother and having your life destroyed by her taking away all your opportunities before the age of 18. .

That’s one sentence!
Sarah Templeton For me, it was because I have ADHD and we have more compassion than most people and I was desperate to help ADHD children, teachers of ADHD kids and also all the ADHD people who are in prison.

I can’t take credit for it though. It was a friend of mine who suggested I write everything down in a book.
Sarah Templeton I have had this a few times and it’s only because I am preoccupied with work as I still run the biggest team of ADHD Diagnosed counsellors in the UK. I can only write when I have a completely clear head and sometimes it can take months before I can start writing again. My advice is not to force it. Just live your life and do what you need to do and when the time comes to write again, you will know it. You can’t force your brain to be in writing mode.

Well, I certainly can’t. I just have to wait for it to be there and I love writing so I know it will come back.

Sarah Templeton I don’t have a very imaginative brain and I only deal with reality. But my dream location would be Hawaii and what I would do there would be to lie on a beach and do very little.!!!!
Sarah Templeton Why my mother held me back all my life. I only found out when I was 60 that it was because she was a narcissist. My counsellor of five years had kept telling me she was a narcissist, but it didn’t make sense until I read a certain book. I would like to write a book 1 day about how a narcissist, can impact your life negatively to help other people
Sarah Templeton Any new books about prisons. I love books written by Prison governors, Prison officers, Prison psychologists, Prison psychiatrists, Prison doctors and anything to do with the criminal justice system.
Sarah Templeton I had it after I had worked in four prisons. Two adult male prisons and two young offender institutes. I could not believe that since I received my own ADHD diagnosis in 2015 that pretty much everybody I was working with was either diagnosed with ADHD as a child but had been taken off medication in the late teens when we still believed ADHD was a childhood behavioural disorder. And the rest of them were also ADHD but had absolutely no clue because like me they had not been picked up. Was 51 before I was diagnosed and I was determined to help these younger people understand their own brains before I had and mostly to stop them coming back to Prison
Sarah Templeton My next book. It will be released in April 2025. It is called THE PRISON COUNSELLOR
Sarah Templeton Just sit down with a brand-new book and a beautiful pen and see what happens. That’s what I did and I’ve now just written my fourth book. Let the ideas flow and don’t see it as a finished product but just lots of things you are passionate about sharing with the world.
Sarah Templeton Helping people understand ADHD children. Not trying to turn them into Neurotypical children. Raising awareness of ADHD in parents so that their children don’t end up in the criminal justice system I’m passionate about helping people especially ADHD people be understood properly.
