Kaz Lefave "Time and space melt into the fiery landscape that hisses beyond the charred gates of every body’s worst nightmare." (Muahahaha. Quoted from Nemecene: Through Fire and Ice)
Kaz Lefave I would be off to Lothlorien for some tree hugging, then onwards to Rivendell for more inspiration, as I write my series, and, of course, study the Elvish ways.
Kaz Lefave Good question. I am currently studying Thomas Troward's word and writing, writing, writing like a mad woman. If there is ONE book I should read, then go ahead and suggest it. :-)
Kaz Lefave That would be a secret. Muahahaha.
Kaz Lefave The favorite fictional couple that comes to mind is a cinematic one: William and Jocelyn from "A Knight's Tale". Their relationship is authentic and transcends class boundaries. In this story, Jocelyn has a slightly mischievous side which makes for great wit and she shows strength in a time where women were not supposed to speak. William, on the other hand, shows vulnerability in a time where that was considered a weakness. The entire movie is clever and fun.
Kaz Lefave Well I can't really divulge the inspiration for the Nemecene™ series. Muahahaha. It's a tapestry of influences that postulates the meaning of life in so many ways. You'll just have to wait for the clues to drop, one novel at a time. ;-)
Kaz Lefave I get ideas from just about anything. It's crazy because sometimes it is totally unrelated to my storyline.
I am pulled towards a larger purpose so it has a life of its own. Resistance is futile I guess. Hehehe. And it really is what I am destined to do.
I go back to the feeling I had when I had printed an exact size mock up of the first book, complete with a proof for the cover, and the tears just come to me. Even after all I have done in my life (except for giving birth of course because my 2 kids top everything), that tiny book felt right.
When times get tough, I think back to that moment and keep going.
Kaz Lefave I've been a busy bee in the last couple of years: screenplay for Nemecene, honing in on my life's purpose, directing a science fiction short, designing the pieces to the larger Nemecene™ World, setting up the water ocean stewardship fund (yay! Aguacene™ - the epoch of water), writing novel 2 of the series (release date pending artwork completion and a few tidbits), and all the business end of thing.

At the moment, I am working with a genius artist and team for the launch of the Nemecene™ World, writing novel 3 in the series, working on another book project outside the series, prototyping some cool stuff, designing more of the world,... no time for TV that's for sure. Oh and cuddling my dog Lola and taking her to the park and on walks. :-)
Kaz Lefave Get out of your skin. The words are coming from somewhere special and they have to be told. You are the messenger, so embrace it and give it all you have. If you are really truly connected to what is flowing through you, remember that any criticism is simply someone's opinion on the work attached to their own personal story (that you have nothing to do with by the way). The words comes through you but there are not you. Let the characters be who they are and have fun with them. Even the evil ones because in the end, you can pull their plug whenever you want. Muahahaha.
Kaz Lefave Creating, creating, creating. That is when "being in the zone" takes on a new meaning. Those moments where I write and when I go back to edit I don't remember actually writing that are the absolute best. That's when the real lyrical emotion comes out... sourced from somewhere in the universe.
Kaz Lefave The novels are part of a larger initiative so when I'm blocked in one, I move on to the other. Some are predominantly right brain, some are mostly left brain. I find that flipping to something that exercises the other side of the brain helps to give the other a rest. I liken it to personal training (a past profession of mine). Give that muscle some time to recuperate and it gets even stronger for the next set.
