A have a few tricks I use. Switching scenes, or changing gears to another project is my most common tactic. In some cases, taking a break and doing something else mind stimulating helps. Talking it through with my wife often helps too, and going for long walks just to think about it.

People are impressed by it. It takes a lot of dedication to write a complete novel, and even more to stick with it throughout the editing, revision and publishing process.

Write. That's it. Write. And read. But mostly write. You have to practice your craft to get really good at it. This seems so self explanatory that it's almost cliché, but there are many aspiring writers out there who don't figure this out early enough, and think that their first book (or whatever) is going to be their magnus opus. It won't be. It will take a long time to develop the writing skills you need to put together something truly great.

I currently have two books on the go. The first is The Spell Breaker, which is the first book in a new trilogy called The Spell Breaker Chronicles. The second is an untitled book that takes place on Earth after the events in The Time Weaver Chronicles.

I haven't really figured this out, yet. It comes and goes. Sometimes I write like crazy, and others, I have trouble just getting a hundred words down. Though if I had to nail it down, I would say that you have to consciously seek out inspiration and make yourself get those words down.
