Ellen M. Totten My story started out as a writing project in a Creative Writing class. The instructor gave us the word, "Consequences" and told us to write a short story. That happened several years ago and the story was filed away in my desk. After I finished "A Scent of Gardenias", I decided to do something with "Consequences" and make it into a novel. As I continued with the story, it completely changed from what I intended, and I changed the name to "DOUBT".
Ellen M. Totten I guess some of my inspiration comes from problems many families face today...whether child abuse or spousal abuse. It's a pox in our society and should never be tolerated. Other inspiration comes from some of my favorite authors.
Ellen M. Totten I just finished publishing my latest book, "DOUBT" which is available in paperback on Amazon.com. The Kindle version should be out soon. I'm working on some ideas, but haven't decided yet.
Ellen M. Totten Write something every day, and write for yourself...not for anyone else. That advice was passed on to me by one of my very favorite authors.
Ellen M. Totten I think the best thing about being a writer is letting your imagination go wild.
Ellen M. Totten I'll take a break for a while, or work on another part of the story just as long as I get something down on paper. You can always go back and change things around.
