Space Takers started as an expression of the experiences my friends and I had in middle school. I like to say my superhero book is loosely based on a true story, starting with the suspicious cafeteria mashed potatoes. I mean, you could literally sculpt with them and still have clean hands. What was that about? That weird kid that sat next to us and tied a fruit by the foot wrapper around his forehead and called himself Fruit Man. You can't make this stuff up.
Instead, it stayed with me. Childhood creativity that refused to dissipate with age. I've had a lot of inspiration to write other things, but when I decided to get serious about authoring, Space Takers was what pushed itself to the front of my mind. It feels like I'm honoring my tweenage self, her friends, and the stories of our youth.

I am currently spreading word for and marketing Space Takers, my middle grade superhero book about characters whose powers are based on their insecurities. I am putting together everything I need for my booth at Galaxycon Columbus. Come 2025, I plan to start editing the second book in the series.
