The idea that became The Name I Chose popped in my head while I slept. I dreamed it was the 19th century. A young lady and her sweetheart had eloped. They were naive and physically disadvantaged, but too excited by their romantic adventure to be suspicious of the strangers who engaged them in conversation. I woke too soon to warn the couple to "Look out!" This germ of an idea became a novel of passion and peril set in an alternative Victorian England.
