Sitting down with an idea, that starts as a hand drawn sketch and develops over time into a full blown painting that somehow came out of my brain. It still astounds me the way the story unfolds on the page - keystroke by keystroke. It's not without tons of research, but there is still some kind of magic in it.

Set your intention. Make a vision board to help manifest the dream. Tell yourself every single day - out loud - that you can do it. Take it one page at a time. Join a writing group where there are word count expectations. I did the 100-Day Book with The Write Practice and it worked!

Sometimes I just step away and read for pleasure to clear my head. Other times I book a massage and let my mind ruminate on the story the whole time. Then I furiously type all the ideas into my phone. Time pressure and financial wagers with my family also help motivate me.
