Courtney B. Jones My dream? Well, to have a best selling book. One that grabs people's attention, connects deeply to others. But even if that never happens, I'll never stop writing. It's my outlet. I think creative and emotional type people have to have something they can pour their thoughts and feelings into otherwise it gets all clogged up inside.
Courtney B. Jones The trouble series started from a memory. Nathan and Ashley's first meeting and first date are extremely similar to my husband's and I's. But as it takes me sometimes a close to a year to write a book, the idea and characters evolved and took on a life of their own. I've really been into the show Nashville and the song lyrics included are all songs that I was listening to a lot and would guide my mood/thoughts/ideas while writing.

Currently...I just began working on a new book. This story is inspired by the idea of a toxic relationship. And the main character from a very good friend of mine who has been in this predicament.
Courtney B. Jones I get inspiration from lots of places but usually it starts with something small. Like a really great song lyric. Maybe it reminds me of a situation I was in once or makes me thing how things could of happened if...(fill in the blank). So I guess the real inspiration comes from my own life and memories. But music sure helps :) I also get lots of inspiration from other writers. Good writers are good readers.
Courtney B. Jones Right now, I'm working on a story with a not so good girl. Every book I read lately is a "good girl" with a bad boy. What about the not so good girls? They're usually cast as the best friend. Not this time :)
Courtney B. Jones READ! If I am having trouble writing I read as many books as I can. A lot of times I try to read books that are the same as something I am currently working on. Or if I'm having trouble coming up with ideas, I just read whatever. Reading constantly makes me a better writer!
