Don't let anything put you off. It's an industry where there is a lot of rejection and even when you get published that are a lot of people who love to put your work down, especially if you self-publish. Write because you love it. I learned such a lot on this site from reviewing others and having them review my work.

I'm currently working on a slightly sci fi book where teenagers help one another. I don't want to say any more at the moment except that this series will deal with a lot of issues faced by young people today.

Inspiration comes from many sources, sometimes ideas come after seeing teenagers interacting with one another. Other times a program on the TV may spark an idea. All my squirrel stories came from watching my little friends while working on an admin job, right on the edge of a wood.

Witness just came to me. I didn't sit down and try to think of it, it was simply there, in my head. I wanted a story about a teenager in trouble who has to resolve things for herself and that's where it began.
