Regan Summers I don't know that it's inspiration so much as a change in balance. The need to try to capture a particular story becomes stronger than the desire to do other fun things, and more powerful than inertia. It's tough. Inertia is a beast.
Regan Summers The idea for Falling from the Light came from a dilemma I had about how to reconcile the main characters and their desires. Sydney doesn't want anyone taking control of her life from her. Malcolm wants his freedom from a position of contracted servitude. They both want each other, and forces beyond their control are bent on using that to keep one or both of them leashed. So that's the idea. What will Syd and Mal do? Accept their fate, or fight? I'm sure readers have an idea of which path they'll take. ;)
Regan Summers The same way I deal with mosquito bites. I alternately poke and scratch madly at it, and pretend to ignore it in the hopes it'll go away. I think that every writer at some point encounters an inability to get words on the page, or to make the words shape the pictures in their heads. There's no one solution, but persistence and flexibility help.
Regan Summers I'm revising the third book of the Night Runner series, and I'm tremendously excited about it.
