I don't often suffer from writer's block when I'm working on a novel. But if I do get stuck I take a break from the project and relax, put the story completely out of my mind, and return to it only when I feel a sense of renewed enthusiasm. This could take a day, a week, a month, or even a year. Not a big deal because I don't rely on income from my novels to live on. I wouldn't have this luxury if the case were otherwise.
