Amie Kaufman My next book will be The Heart of the World -- it's the sequel (and conclusion) to The Isles of the Gods, and it's coming on July 2nd, 2024! you can find details or add it here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Amie Kaufman Yay, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! At the moment there aren't any plans -- the physical copy was an exclusive for people who preordered Aurora Rising, so I don't think we'll see it in print again, but you can get it as an ebook and audiobook. The ebook is formatted just as the series is and looks amazing. The audiobook has *chefs kiss* casting and is from the same award-winning team as Illuminae, Gemina and Obsidio.
Amie Kaufman Jay is a fan of The Wire, so he slipped Jimmy's name into Illuminae. But I'll let you in on a secret -- there are hundreds of those little Easter eggs all through The Illuminae Files, from song lyrics to names to other tiny winks.
Amie Kaufman Hi! It's really strange -- sometimes characters just seem to turn up with their names already there, and they just introduce themselves. I actually thought I'd completely made up the name Tarver, and then after we'd finished writing I found out it meant "tower", which is so fitting for such a strong character!
Amie Kaufman We know who's on the cover and we know what the title is -- we can safely say you'll know them both too before the end of the year, and probably in the next few months!
Amie Kaufman Thank you so much! There's one more book in the Aurora Cycle -- we're drafting it right now, and it'll be out in 2021. If you don't want to wait that long, Meg (who I wrote the Starbound series with) and I have a new book coming out this September: The Other Side of the Sky!
Amie Kaufman We never say never, but right now the plan is to have the series end at book three -- we're drafting it right now! You can sign up to my newsletter, and each month or so you'll get news about any new releases and behind the scenes peeks at what I'm working on: www.eepurl.com/6Ya8j
Amie Kaufman Good news -- Jay and I are drafting it right now! We don't have a confirmed publication date, but usually there's a year's gap between books, so the odds are it'll be out in or around May 2021. If you need to keep busy in the meantime, I've got a new series starting in September with book one, The Other Side of the Sky -- it'll definitely take your mind off that cliffhanger!
Amie Kaufman The Elementals series will be three books long -- and book three, Battle Born, is out on June 2nd 2020! I can't wait for you all to read it. For those readers in the US, for the last few days of May 2020, you can get Ice Wolves for $1.99 on ebook, and on audio for $4.99!
Amie Kaufman Thank you so much! Book two, Aurora Burning is out on May 5th, and there are lots of ways to grab a signed copy if you're in the US, UK or Australia. You can check them all out at my website -- www.amiekaufman.com/preorder
Amie Kaufman I have amazing news! There will be audiobooks for both Scorch Dragons AND for book three, Battle Born! This wasn't guaranteed, but it's happened because enough listeners loved the first book and asked for more. So to everyone who let the audio publishers know they wanted to hear the next two books, thank you! (And thank you for the wonderful compliment -- I loved writing this series so much, and I'd never say never about returning to this world.)
Amie Kaufman Book two, Aurora Burning, is coming on May 5th! If you're in the US, you can claim a preorder offer. If you're in Australia, there are gifts with purchase available. If you're in the UK, there are special editions on offer. All the info is at www.amiekaufman.com/preorder -- thank you for reading, and I hope you love it!
Amie Kaufman There is! Books one and two -- Ice Wolves and Scorch Dragons -- are out right now. The series will wrap up in June 2020 with Battle Born. I'm really proud of how it turned out -- I've known what the very last scene would be for such a long time, and it was amazing to actually write it at last!
Amie Kaufman Yes! Book two is coming in early 2019 (I'm editing it right now), and book three after that! You can add them to your TBR here on Goodreads so you're notified when they come out!
Amie Kaufman There already is! And it's *FREE*! It's called THIS NIGHT SO DARK, and it's the story of how Tarver first got his medals, as well as how he met Sanjana, a character we encounter in book three. It's available as an e-short, and if you don't have an e-reader (or you're not in Australia or the USA), you can use the link to Scribd to get it as a PDF. Here's a list of all the places you can find it: http://amiekaufman.com/books/this-nig...
Amie Kaufman These Broken Stars was originally titled 'Wrecked', and the title changing process was a long one! Everybody agreed on what we were aiming for, but we just couldn't find the right one! It was our editor who eventually came up with TBS, and Meg and I loved it immediately. After that, happily, This Shattered World was no trouble at all!
Amie Kaufman Hi Lisa! There'll be three books -- These Broken Stars, This Shattered World, and a third book with a title we can't share yet! There's also a free short story, This Night So Dark, and we're hoping to release some more stories in the future! If you sign up for Meg's an my mailing list at www.thesebrokenstars.com you'll get an email whenever a new story's available!
Amie Kaufman Hi Mada! This Night So Dark is available on Amazon in the US and Australia, but not elsewhere because the series hasn't sold in those countries. BUT! If you're not in the US or Australia, you can still get it for free at Scribd as a PDF, and put it on any e-reader you like. You can find links to TNSD on every platform at this website: http://thesebrokenstars.com/eshort/ Hope you enjoy!
