Elena Rego I deal with writer's block in a variety of ways. I experience writer's block as this anxious state where I can't quite land on the thread I'm wanting to explore. So when it happens, I'll do one of the following things:

1. Shift to another project altogether. I have a long list of things, most of which are creative that I'm working on for my company so this helps me stay in a creative flow even if it isn't on the particular piece I'm trying to write.
2. Move. I have to get up and move in some way whether it be walking, stretching, laundry... something that just shifts me out of the position I've been in while trying to write.
3. If I'm working on a larger piece (that isn't a blog post, say) I've usually started my outlining process on note cards. I'll spread those out on a table and start looking for gaps and places where smaller ideas can come through so that at least I'm still working on the project and helping to flesh it out in other ways. I'm almost asking the gaps to reach out to me for something new. Often this works.
4. I start to journal, asking myself the question, "What is it I really need to say here?" That also helps open the flow.
