There are a few, all spooky and paranormal.
I used to investigate old, abandoned places with friends. We were basically a teen ghost-hunting group. One time, four of us went to an old bridge that had collapsed. There was an old church and a huge cemetery by it. We parked at the edge of the road just off the bridge and got out, leaving the car running.
Our sole purpose was to just look around, since we'd heard stories about the place from several people. There were no houses around, just the old church, and we were in the deep country, with forest all around, only one way in or out since the bridge was out.
I walked into the woods along the creek, not so far that we couldn't see the car. One friend stayed at the road. Another went to my left, and the last further left.
The friend at the car started saying something about the car, so we were all about to head back. Suddenly, I heard whistling, like a little jolly tune. The friend nearest me asked who was talking. The other friend heard singing.
We all heard something different. Hearts beating, we headed back to the car, where our friend was freaking out, saying the radio was staticky and she knew that was a bad sign.
We piled in, and just as I put the car in drive, the car died. My friends and I were all panicking. It took several times to crank it and get out of there, but before we left, the creek had fogged over, and dusk was approaching.
One of the creepiest memories I have!

We entered the darkest depths of the caverns as a group of twenty. We returned as a group of twenty-one.

I step away from the project for a few days. Sometimes, staring at it for so long can make my brain bleed. So I give it a break, and just think about the story for a few days, and suddenly, the solution will just come to me.

Being able to get the stories out of my head is therapeutic to me. If I didn't write (even if there's no intention to ever publish), I would have a plethora of voices in my head, driving me insane.
I enjoy creating worlds and placing characters in impossible situations. I love writing about love and obstacles, war and paranormal creatures, myths and legends.
That's my favorite part: bringing to life something that has only existed in my imagination.

NEVER. GIVE. UP. It isn't about being the best writer in the world. It's about sharing a story with someone who is looking for an escape from their own life.
No longer is it about making money and landing a huge publishing house. Whether you are a great writer or a horrible one, there is always something to learn and improve upon. And that's how you make it: by polishing your words until they shine!

I am currently working on yet another Warriors of the Veihl novel: Shea's story entitled "Heart of the Veihl". I have no less than 7 more planned out after that.

By reading. I've always had my nose stuck in a book, even going so far as to win reading awards in school. I began writing in High School, everything from poetry to YA fantasy, so I guess I always knew I was headed in the "write" direction. It wasn't until 10 years later that I finished my first "adult" book and published it. I've been completing 2-3 novels a year since.

It just came to me. Ideas generally pop into my head when I'm in the midst of doing something other than writing, so I make notes. I was probably driving, which is the time I tend to make more detailed stories in my head, and I record voice messages to listen to later.
