Every day is a mystery -- with lots of curiosities waiting to be discovered... In terms of a plot for a book, the mystery of unexplained, secret happiness while family disappointments and world disarray pose impossible roadblocks -provides a journey through relationships, personal tragedies and triumphs -- and hoping to unlock the secret of the next life - the "happily" here-after that is promised... I can take a walk in the garden or through the Greenmarket/Farmers Market. I think of writing as work because it is and just focus, focus, focus. I read other writers I admire and bask in the richness of their words, the turn of a phrase, the cadence of the voice. Reading inspires me most.

There are many good things about being a writer. Sharing news and information about something or someone that strikes you as significant, important, and beneficial. The writing inspires. Creating a piece of work that explores a character and ignites imagination - is like being a sorcerer. It's magic. Feedback from subjects and readers is a catalyst. Words are like a bejeweled key -- when you find the glittering way to unlock the portal to another world you - and your readers - will be transported. Writing is enduring and that is very special indeed.

That's a tough one! I read - anything - sometimes the back of a cereal box will do! Take a break. Sometimes I just keep writing as I'll edit it later but just need to keep the words coming, getting it on the page… Talk it out… Coffee. Lots of coffee...

I was inspired by the garden. Gardens inspire all of us, especially artists. I wanted to learn and share what inspired culinary artists most - as they use the authentic bounty of the garden to create. I wanted to show that love & respect for nature and for the craft of the artisanal grower & maker.
