Taylor Hartley I consume story ALL the time, either through television, reading, or playing video games. I also take in a lot of stories from my own life, and I work as a schoolteacher, which gives me infinite inspiration.

What are you currently working on?

Taylor Hartley About a thousand different things, but the project taking priority involves fae :) Like...eat your face fae, not sexy fae.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Taylor Hartley Keep knocking on those doors. Seek out critique because it makes you better. And read EVERYTHING that you can, but most especially books outside your usual genre to get a sense of how different genres engage readers.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Taylor Hartley I love bringing characters to life and finding new ways to introduce these people who have lived inside my mind for so long. There's nothing quite as sweet as writing a well-crafted sentence -- but character development is absolutely my favorite part of writing.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Taylor Hartley After Roe vs. Wade was overturned, I envisioned a world in which all of the monstrous women from myth came to our rescue. After all, they were all created by men aiming to demonize us...and so what would happen if, in this desperate need to save ourselves, we called on them to help us? And that idea became the Hell Witch coven in my book...and that Hell Witch coven became a novel.
