Every year I am a judge for the RONE book awards from In D Tale magazine. This gives me several books to read in very little time. I am always reading...and from so many different genres. I have a stack of Star Trek books that I have bought over the winter, just waiting for my attention.

I'd love to step into the Amethyst Eyes realm. I just finished the last book in the trilogy and there is a sadness at seeing it come to an end. It is a place of hope, a place of caring, though not without its challenges. I would definitely love to step in...

so not into horror. Life can be challenging enough without looking to create horror, two sentences or more...

I go back and reread enough of what I've written until I feel as though I'm in the story, and just start writing to continue it. I let the scene come to me. I never try to make it up. When I'm stuck, it's usually because my head is resisting the scene that is playing out before me. There is a lot of trust involved in writing...not so much control. I do not plan or plot. I observe and write.

You get to create new worlds, places, people. If something in life is getting you down, write about how you would want it to be. Need a solution in life? Write a story where you get one. There are literally no limits!

Write.
Write something, anything...because until you do, you have nothing to work on. Write short scenes, write descriptions of setting, write character observations. Pick a movie and write what you see. You can even play with what you think the characters are thinking during the scene. HAve fun and write!

I get a flash of a scene and go from there. I don't try to make up a story, plot characters or events. I am like o reporter, putting to paper what I see happening before my eyes. I never know who is going to show up, what;s going to happen or even why...
I write and live it as it plays out. It can be quite the adventure.

Well, better late than never, I guess...
They come to me, usually as a vision or image of the opening scene. I write it down and try to write as fast as the scene plays out. I never know where I'm going, I'm along for the ride. It's fun.
