My favourite fictional couple is Marianne and Colonel Brandon ... because she starts where so many of us start - confusing love with being humoured, confusing the words and images of love with actual feelings for one another. She has so much growing up to do ... and Brandon never once comments on that or makes her feel self-conscious, but always accepts her as she is.

I'm currently working on Book 3 of the Doorway and on a children's book about organ donation (it was a challenge to find what I thought was a positive slant for that!) and on a non-fiction book about getting a handle on stress.

I grew up in a house with minor but consistent paranormal phenomena - at least I've never been able to explain them - and while some things were just unusual (not particularly scary), other things would have a very negative vibe. So the thought of two ghosts fighting each other (at the expense of the living) just sort of evolved out of that.
