Jake Elliot I'll share what Larry McMurtry told me one night as we enjoyed drinks, (true story,)
"For most people, life is a river, people get in the boat and the river takes them to their destination. But writers are dropped in the middle of the ocean and must swim to shore."
---Larry McMurtry
Jake Elliot I don't believe in writer's block. Good stories take time. It is never a 'block,' it is a 'pause.' I'll work on something else -- as a writer, there is always something else to write about. Some days the flow is magical. Some days the writing just sucks. On those days I work on marketing or I pick up a book and read.
Jake Elliot My wife and I were in Ireland. I was hungry and so I named the little guy 'Dinner.' (I didn't eat him, actually, but I did have lamb that night in his honor.)
Jake Elliot Poor Little Kitty. She really didn't deserve such foul treatment from those two heathens. :) And yeah, Lincoln is now in big trouble with PETA for accepting Late Payment.

(I can't wait to read this anthology--I was very excited to share pages with Tim Marquitz, Edward M. Erdelac, and Greg Chapman.)
