Wayne Basta Force myself to write. Writing is self-perpetuating. The more you do it, the more you do it. The less you try, the less you'll be able to write.
Wayne Basta It may seem tired but the best advice for new writers is to just keep writing. Everything gets better with practice. Seek advice and opinion on your work but don't forget that a large part of reading is subjective. The most important part of getting feedback is learning what's actually useful advice. "I don't like this"/"this book sucks"/"you're a bad writer" is never useful so you can safely ignore it. "This section made me feel..."/"this part confused me"/"maybe if you..." are far more useful bits of advice. You don't necessarily have to follow them but if a bunch of people say a section confused them, it's probably confusing.
