The idea for my current book "Vengeance," came from my love of French murder mysteries. I had been studying French for years and reading French mysteries. When I could not find a good mystery, I started to write my own for my class. My teacher thought they were good and encouraged me to try writing one in English.
It was fun, and because I had travel so much to Nice and Paris, and lived in New York, I decided that it would be great to incorporate these places into my story.

At the moment, I am developing ideas in my head, but I am not sure of which way I will be going with my next book. Since I have self-published, I am working to get as many eyes on my current book as possible. Constructive criticism is extremely important, especially to a first-time author.

As "Vengeance," is my first self-published short story. The only advice that I can say is to believe in yourself, enjoy, keep pushing forward, and write from your heart.

The best thing about being a fictional writer is that you have the opportunity to develop characters, live in a make-believe world, go to place you might not be able to go to and you have complete control over your characters.
It's one of the best forms of escapism, in my opinion.

I deal with writer's block by walking away from my computer and finding something else to do. I pick up a book, I have a glass of wine, go to the gym, call a friend.
