I've recently been contacted by a friend in Independent Living who has met another resident with a similar story such as yours. At age 24, just a year after this Medical Technician had married she had a stroke, was completely paralyzed, and has written a book about it (Blink Twice If You Mean "Yes") which she would like to get published. I told my friend, "We can help get her published!" Can you help?
Nika Maples It is a long process to get your work published. There are no shortcuts, I have found. I suggest that she start by looking into KDP, Kindle Direct Publishing. That is a good first stop to get a book into reader's hands. It will still take a lot of preparation to get it ready to publish through KDP. But I know she can do it!

What do you think about when you write?
Nika Maples My books usually come from things I am already wondering about when I read the Bible. I read a little bit from the Bible every morning, and while I do, I take notes in the margins and underline and ask questions. The areas where I have the most notes, I decide to explore more. So I pray about those sections, and usually, a book starts to form in my mind and heart ... and I write it.

I like to write in complete quiet or sometimes with instrumental music playing.
