Dear Atila, Thank you so much for reading the book. I hope you’re enjoying it. In answer to your question, the story wasn’t inspired by real people, unlike one of my other historical novels, Becoming Lola. This was inspired by the life of the Victorian adventuress, Lola Montez. Best wishes, Harriet

Dear Reita, I'm very flattered you like the series! I self-publish under the name Stane Street Press, but the Kindle books don't have ISBNs only ASINs. This is because Amazon say they don't require ISBNs for ebooks. One can supply them for reference, but apparently they wouldn't show up on the product page. Paperbacks are, of course, a different matter and I purchase ISBNs for those and use them. I know that over here in the UK, it can be a problem for libraries to get hold of self-published books in paperback because library wholesalers don't necessarily stock them, and UK libraries don't buy from Amazon. I'm not sure what the situation is for you in the US. Whether it's ebooks or paperbacks you're wanting, do get in touch again if there's a problem and I'll do my best to help. Incidentally, the fourth book in the series, Fatal Finds in Nuala is coming out tomorrow. Best wishes, Harriet

There shouldn't be a problem as the story is written to be read on its own or as part of the series. As I always do, however, I've put thumbnail sketches of the characters who appear regularly in the series just before Chapter 1. I do so because I've found it helpful myself when reading other authors' books out of series. You might like to have a look. I hope you enjoy the book and I'd love to hear what you think.

If I can't work out a way of linking the books, I may have to ask the Goodreads librarians who are usually very helpful. Anyway, I'm so glad you are enjoying the adventures of Inspector de Silva and his friends and I'm sorry it was a hassle finding book 2.
