My best advice is to find a routine that works for you. Whether it's an hour in the morning before you go to work, or twenty minutes during your launch break, find something you can stick to. Writing is a marathon, not a sprint!

I loved the twists and turns in your story plot. the novel is intriguing indeed!
Since it is your debut novel, how are you planning to market it? I am keen on learning some marketing tips from you since I am also awaiting the release of my novel Joe's Republic -the legacy of an idler, next month. would really appreciate your advice.

Thank you so much Manisha! And congrats on your novel. Losing the Light actually came out two years ago, and I'm preparing for the release of my second novel SHE REGRETS NOTHING in February. I did a variety of things to market my work: lots of social media activity, some in-person events, and traditional media outreach via my publisher and a publicist that I hired to help out. Every marketing campaign is different though because it depends on the publisher, the audience, the writer, their budget etc. For more advice on this, check out my consulting page on my website, there are a bunch of articles at the bottom of the page on the topic. https://www.andreadunlop.net/consulti...

Hi Leela, No one platform is necessary, but having a presence on social media is important and can lead to a ton of great opportunities. My best advice is to pick one social media outlet that you love and focus on building up a following there. Lots of folks try to do it all and then get really overwhelmed. So find a platform you have fun with and focus your efforts there! Hope that helps.

(view spoiler)[Loved Losing the Light! What a great adventure. It left me wanting to learn French and eat croissants. What was your inspiration for the book? The twist at the end was genius. Didn't see it coming

Hi there! Thank you so much for reading and I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the book. Sorry for taking so long to respond, I only just now saw this question. I spent some time in France when I was about Brooke and Sophie's age, and that definitely inspired the setting and everything about language and the weirdness and wonderment of living abroad. I also wanted to write about those friendships and romances in our youth that can impact us so much even if they're very short-lived. Thanks for writing!
