Hi Linda, Thanks so much for reading and reviewing my book. I can't tell you how much that means to me! And now to try and answer your question. It's so thought provoking and complex and you've zeroed in on one of Fina's central truths, the love of and death of her mother. For her it is a loss that is never finished, never really understood, a grief that goes on and grows. Fina wouldn't exist without it. And, yes, I am very close to my mother as you must be to yours.

Hi Lorena, This is a great question. Although I'd been writing all my life, keeping diary after diary, I'd never done anything with them. But after my husband died suddenly and I was quite raggedy, I discovered that the way to feel good was to write. I began with short stories, and the stories kept growing. Now I've published seven novels and I'm writing my eighth.
