Joe Corso Sit down and write something...anything. It's like priming the pump because as you write what you are not inspired to write, ideas begin to form and your writing will take you in an exciting new direction and all you have to do is follow what you have written and it will lead you in a new and exciting direction. Write something down and something will come from it. Remember nothing will come from not writing.
Joe Corso Most people my age are retired and are not as productive as they used to be. Writing was a hobby that quite by accident became a vocation, which surprised me because I had no idea my books would become as popular as they are. In my case writing keeps my mind sharp and for me the best thing about writing is that my books will be a legacy to my heirs.
Joe Corso Start with an idea and then begin writing and follow the thread. Don't worry how what you write looks. Ernest Hemingway once said "The first draft is pure s**t." and it is but keep putting your words on paper and don't worry about it and even if you don't feel like writing...write!
Joe Corso I'm working on another western which was originally titled The Buffalo Hunter, but it seems to be morphing into "The Calico Kid." I haven't decided which title to use yet so we'll see where the book takes me.
Joe Corso I always wanted to write I just didn't know how to begin. My inspiration to fire up my computer and actually write a book came from my desire to help pay for my grandchildren's college education.
Joe Corso I got the idea for the Starlight Club books from growing up in Queens, New York. The Time Portal books were a little different. Everyone likes time travel books but I wanted to make my time travel books a little different than others I read. I came up with a different approach to time travel and wrote a series called The Time Portal and if you read any of my them I think you would agree that I accomplished it. I love westerns so I decided to try writing one so I wrote the Lone Jack Kid which won an award.
